Celebrate National Adoption Awareness Month with CHSFS! |
Submitted by JenniE on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 - 13:47

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to invite you all to a special lunch that is being hosted by CHSFS and Tiburon Caribbean Bistro in honor of November Adoption Awareness Month. Tiburon is opening their doors just for us and this event!
It's on Sunday, November 13th from 11-3 PM. Reservations can be made online at http://tiburonbistro.com/1events.php and they are highly recommended! The newly formed Resource Committee of Adopted Adults at CHSFS will act as guest hosts and wait assistants. We'll have CHSFS materials, books, authors and other fun things to do while you eat and chat! It'll be a great opportunity to meet other adoptive families, adopted adults, waiting families, or those just interested in adoption.

Update on Baby Griffin |
Submitted by KimM on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 12:01

We heard from the family that adopted "our baby" formerly known as Song Tae Yoon, now Griffin! They call him Griffy or Spiffy- apparently he is quite the charmer and is the "star of the show" at his daycare. He's adjusted very well, can crawl around now, and laughs and waves at everybody!
We were very happy to hear about him and that he's a smiley baby. Even though he cried a lot when he was with us, I could tell the happy demeanor was inside him the whole time, it just was a lot of adjustments to go through. I guess he needed to cry out all the tears before he joined his family! :)
I've attached a picture they sent to us, I think you'll see a wonderful difference and the love this family has for him! The picture of him is when he was on the boat with Grandma for the first time.

Some of you mentioned you would like a copy of the DVD you saw at the reunion. We are able to make additional DVD copies if you would like one. Please let us know if you are interested and give us your address. We'll let you know how much postage will be to mail it, it will probably not be much. Our e-mail is kimnmarty@charter.net. It was fun seeing you all! Kim and Marty Miller

How to Add Pictures |
Submitted by MarkW on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 20:13
|
Here are the steps that you take to add pictures to the web site. It might be a good idea to print this out so you can refer to it while you are in the process.
- First thing, look through your pictures and pick the ones you want to upload.
- I like to make another directory and copy my favorite pictures into it so I don't have to plow through all the other pictures.
- Rename the pictures so you can see by the file name what it is. No one else will see the file names on the web site, so the name is on ly for your convenience.
- ... But make sure that there are no spaces at all in the file names or they won't upload! (I may someday be able to fix that, but not now.)

Please Post Pictures! |
Submitted by MarkW on Sunday, July 17, 2005 - 17:27

Please Post Pictures! I didn't get nearly as many pictures of us as I intended. Please post people pictures!
I didn't have a working camera when we visited the Mothers' Home. Please post pictures!
Andrew was cut off in the picture of all the "kids" at the Farewell Dinner. I bet you have a better one. Please post it!
Got pictures of your host family? You know what to do.
Thanks!

It's OK Now |
Submitted by MarkW on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 - 19:48

OK, we have a photo album. Actually, two albums!
I fixed it so the site will resize your image if it's too big.
To upload a picture:
- Click on "create content" on the right.
- Click on "image".
- Type an image title. Type a description too, if you want.
- Select "Korea Tour 2005.2" or one of the days in the Image Galery drop-down.
- Hit the "Browse..." button next to "Image", find your picture file, and "open" it.
- Hit the "Submit" button at the bottom.
If all goes well, your picture is in the gallery.
We can all edit the descriptions. Feel free to fix typoes and add detail to descriptions.

Experiencing Technical Difficulties |
Submitted by MarkW on Monday, July 11, 2005 - 10:16

The web site of Drupal, the software I'm using to set this all up, is currently off line. They had some server problems and they are getting a new server.
I can't get at their documentation until their new server is working. Until then, you won't be able to post pictures. I'll ge the forums working, though.
PS: At the Haeinsa temple, I remove the memory card from my camera while it was still on, rendering it inoperable. But ALL THE PICTURES SURVIVED! I'll post a selection when I can.
Hmmm. I might be able to add a picture to this blog entry. There's an "Attachments" box below.
